Since over a hundred years Philodendron has been used as a house plant. They are not fussy plants although their requirements vary from one type to another. There are climbing philodendrons and non-climbing ones. The latter tend to become large plants whilst the climbing ones can have their growth contained by pruning and keeping them in small pots. All Philodendrons dislike direct sunlight and prefer moist atmosphere when the weather is warm. Propagation for climbing philodendron is by cuttings whist the non-climbing one by shoots taken from the base.
